Ras Al Khaimah Launches Annual Report of Integrated Sustainability Strategy 2050
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department has announced that the annual report for the Ras Al Khaimah Integrated Sustainability Strategy 2050 (RIS Strategy 2050) is now available, marking a significant milestone in the emirate’s journey toward a sustainable future.
This latest edition reflects a year of heightened ambition for sustainable development in Ras Al Khaimah, addressing critical domains including utilities security & competitiveness, environment protection, and climate change mitigation.
Key Highlights from the 2023 Report:
- 4,500+ Barjeel-compliant buildings and 400+ building retrofits completed, demonstrating the emirate’s strong commitment to green building standards and energy efficiency.
- 160 homes have received support from the Manzily Energy Advice program, helping residents take actionable steps to optimize their energy use.
- Significant policy developments in green procurement and energy management for government entities and state-owned enterprises, promoting sustainability at the institutional level.
- Targeted programmes for environment preservation, as well as focused efforts on the decarbonisation of transport and industries across the emirate.
- In-depth features on key organizations such as RAK Ceramics, the Environment Protection and Development Authority (EPDA), Marjan, RAK Sailing Association, and RAKGAS, showcasing local leadership in sustainability across various sectors.
